Imbalances in your body and its nutritional habits show on your face, in your skin.  A diet that is low-glycemic and protein vegetable and fiber rich is the key to health and beauty.  Read Dr. Michael Murray, ND on eating to prevent or reverse diabetes.  IF you eat the way he says in his book, you will feel and look beautiful.   
In terms of the &quot;basics&quot;  to eat:
Overall, the easiest thing to remember is to eat &quot;protein and plants (vegetables),&quot; that is,
Protein can be chicken, beef, fish, whey protein, eggs, seafood, etc.  
Plants (Vegetables) that keep you healthy and alkaline are red, green, purple, yellow (not corn, not potatoes)
Eat organic if you can afford it and avoid processed foods and nitrates (in cured meats).  Nitrates dry your skin out the same way they dry meat that is cured.  
Remain alkaline by eating leafy greens---AVOID saturated fats, alcohol, and sweets, and white flour.  
Maintain your good flora:   Eat fiber rich foods, take probiotics to keep candida at bay (candida overgrowth can cause tiny blemishes)
Take lecithin, is good for your skin and emulsifies fats in your body so they keep moving instead of depositing where you don&#039;t want it
